There’s a version of me from year one who attempted to answer every email within minutes. Who pulled late nights trying to meet unattainable deadlines. Who thought great client service meant saying yes—when sometimes, “We may want to consider this alternative” would’ve led to a better result. I’ve learned that version of me needed refining.
We built Lucca Lily on the idea of doing great work for our clients. But somewhere in the rush, I lost sight of something important: protecting the work also means protecting the process, the people doing the work—and most importantly, the client.
This year, I’ve learned to take a breath. To slow down, not to delay, but to focus on the details. To review and respond—not just react. To trust that the work holds more power when it’s done with research, refinement, and attention to detail.
Here’s what that’s looked like lately:
• Setting clear feedback windows—so timelines stay realistic and projects stay on track
• Presenting ideas with clarity—reducing back-and-forth and creating space for stronger collaboration
• Holding the line on proven strategies—because good ideas deserve to be protected
It’s not about slowing down for the sake of it. It’s about creating space for better, more productive ideas—and better energy all around.
